Hello

Dear parents / carers

Welcome to our website and thank you for your interest.

What is a Maintained Nursery School?  We are funded and controlled by the Local Authority, in our case Rochdale LA, just like any other Local Authority school.  They are led by a Head teacher and must employ other qualified teachers; like all schools in the country and their Special Needs Co-ordinator must be a teacher.

We hope our webpage introduces you to our wonderful school, situated in an historic house amid beautiful grounds and gives you a snap shot of life at Sunny Brow.

As we are a Maintained Nursery School we offer either full time places  (9:00-3:00) or part time places (9:00-12:00) daily for children who are 3 & 4 years old.  The term following a child’s 3rd birthday all children become eligible for the universal hours (15 hours per week) and some children are eligible for a further 15 hours (Working Families funding).  To check your eligibility for the Working Families funding please visit the link below
https://www.beststartinlife.gov.uk/provider-guidance-and-resources/information-childcare-providers/tax-free-childcare

Our main intake takes place in September at the start of the academic year.  For example a child who is 3 before 31st August is eligible for a place at Sunny Brow from the following September.  Occasionally we don’t admit the maximum number of children in September and therefore we will have some January places available to offer parents of children who turn 3 between 1st September and 31st December.  As mentioned above a full time place is 9:00-3:00.  If your child is  entitled to the Working Families Funding it covers 30 hours per week and there is nothing else to pay.

There is also a before and after school session available for parents to self-fund if necessary

The extras, there are very few.  Take a look at the link which outlines any extra chargeable extras (before/after school and lunch periods not covered by the Government funding/snack donations

A small number of children maybe entitled to Early Years Pupil Premium and we are obliged to publish how we spend the money received in the following document
